ALONE

I think I have hermit like capacities and perhaps I need how to be with people more but this video is a gem and a beautiful reminder that a shift in thinking can change much; that we can lean into an experience, nudge it and find warmth; that we can be mindful and find openings where perhaps we didn't think there was anything to find.

A SERIES IN RED

Water colour panel by Louise Bourgeois.

Two months off not living out of boxes and I am starting to dream of having a space to create in. It will have been fourteen months of "do you know where?" and inevitably remembering it is in storage or finding that S has stored it in a new makeshift place. Who needs Christmas presents when you can just unpack what you haven't seen in over a year?

PAPER BIRDS

Some lovely drawings by one of S's students ...

URCHINS

Crocheted stones by artist Margaret Oomen.

PAPER CUP

A paper mache cup by mixed media artist Cathy Cullis. I love the poetics, the light, the delicateness and the beautiful shape. It makes me want to create a mess and get mache'ing!

BOOK LANDS

More installation goodness. This time by Yvette Hawkins, a London based artist.

PAPER CUTS

The intricate and detailed paper cut work of Bovey Lee is quite amazing. Her work is hand cut on Chinese rice paper and the patience, dexterity and vision that must be needed to create a work like this is remarkable.
